Thunderbird in tray on linux

18 / 05 / 2008 · No comment ·

I find it very convenient to have more open Thunderbird to check email often.
As always have a window open and / or bring it to another desk is not ideal for me, I did work my brain I decided to want thunderbird to tray bar

Firstly I used alltray that puts everything but its all in the tray; not really like the solution I went looking for an addon to Thunderbird and there found the solution: New mail icon

Any extension can be downloaded from here should be installed in Thunderbird by simply going to Tools / Add-ins, press the Install button and selecting the.

Also in that window, after installation, you will find the extension and click Preferences you can change the few options available to you.

Now every time you open Thunderbird you have the tray icon thunderbird.

Clicking once with the left you will see thunderbird "disappear" for review ricliccate with the left!

The extension works for any distribution with Gnome, KDE and IceWM
