And a couple of days that the news had come out of the new version, release 3.1 of OpenOffice, but were still packages for Linux.
Please note that hours were finally included in the download page of the site of OpenOffice.
The installation on Ubuntu is quite simple:
Preliminaries:
start by downloading the package (for 32-bit architectures) from this link
if you did not install the package sun-java6-jre (from synaptic or terminal, as you prefer)
hours uninstalled the older version of OpenOffice removing the packages openoffice.org-core openoffice.org-common (also will be uninstalled dependencies)
We start with the new installation:
move the downloaded package on your desk, if it is not already, click the right button and extract the files
Open the terminal and enter the command
cd Scrivania/OOO310_m11_native_packed-3_it.9399/DEBS
to move to the directory where the files are deb
always from the terminal, to begin the installation,
sudo dpkg-i *. deb
Now, the links in Applications-Office:
always terminal
cd desktop-integration /
then
sudo dpkg-i openoffice.org3.1-debian-menus_3.1-9393_all.deb
That's all folks
ps: if you start from error, go into your Home, Show hidden files and remove the folder. openoffice.org (I know it's a solution a bit 'rough but at the moment I have not found better solutions)
